granite

The toughness that
arises from fire

Granite is a volcanic rock (igneous intrusive) generated from the slow cooling of molten magma within the Earth’s crust and its solidification and crystallization. This lengthy process created a rock that is hard and resistant, with diverse colors created by the impure minerals that have crystallized in it. Its name, derived from the Latin word “granum”, comes from its particular structure in small and medium-sized grains. Granite can be found in diverse typologies and colors that are used in construction and in urban design (outdoor and indoor floors, fountains, planters, benches, stairways), for architectural purposes such as portals, thresholds, sills, fireplaces, and as furniture complements such as kitchen tops, bathroom tops, vanities and tables.
